CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

He's one of the best doctor's I have ever met. He [Dr. Isaacs] makes everything understandable, when I have a question he answer each and every one of them. He's very attentive, patient, and understanding. I have always felt well informed about our situation and treatments. He made us feel at ease and very comfortable.
The clinic [U of MS] is very nice, clean, and welcoming. It's a very busy clinic but the wait time is not long at all. The staff is excellent and the doctor is outstanding. This is by far one of the best clinics I have visited. The staff is well educated....We had a bundle deal for $1300 it was for 3 IUI's. We paid $90 for each trigger shot total of $270 we paid $18 for clomid once and $40 for clomid.... The entire nursing staff is excellent. They go above and beyond to make you feel right at home.

Describe the protocols John Isaacs used in your cycles at University of Mississippi and their degree of success.
We had already been trying on our own for a few years. We went to doctor Isaac and found out there was a low sperm count. So he decided IUI would be best for us. So I was put on letrozole low dose and for cycle day 3-7 went back on cycle day 12 to do vaginal ultrasound and there was one egg on the left ovary i think a size 11 and one on right side leading a size 10. He up my dosage of letrozole and we came back a week later and the egg was a 18 we took trigger shot home and it was administered around 6am the next morning and that following day we were in for IUI at 8:30am with 12,000,000 sperm. Was told to wait 2 weeks take a test and we did as told it was negative. So we started the cycle over again this time using letrozole 7.5mg 3-7 day of cycle. We went in on day 12 and egg on left side was a 11 so he changed meds to clomid 100mg and we were told to come back in a week. Ultrasound was done egg was a 18 were took trigger shot home and got it that next morning. Following day IUI was done with 13,000,000 sperm. Two week wait test was negative. We wait a few months went back this year in Feb he started me on clomid 150mg cycle day 3-5 went in on a Monday egg was a 13 he told us to trigger that Saturday night and we went in for IUI that Monday morning with 400,000 sperm. Ended up negative. We have been back in for another consultant and we are either going to do 3 more rounds of IUI or IVF

Dr. Parry is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. He strives to treat each patient the way he would want his family treated. He answered countless questions, even when I challenged what he was telling me. He remained patient and always was respectful of my wishes. Dr. Parry is especially knowledgeable related to mullerian anomalies. He was able to do a septum resection for me and I am now 18 weeks pregnant. He is constantly working to grow his knowledge base.
Excellent communication, compassionate, thorough, kind, and understanding! I honestly cannot say a single weakness. He is also on the cutting edge in terms of less invasive and more accurate diagnostic testing for infertility and recurrent miscarriage.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
Don't wait, call for your appointment!!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
Dr. Parry is extremely compassionate, knowledgeable, and has excellent bedside manner. He spent a ton of time answering my questions and also helped us to make the best financially affordable care decisions possible also.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at University of Mississippi and their degree of success.
I had an in office hysteroscopy (Parryscope) that helped him evaluate the external contour and internal appearance of my womb. He also was able to get an egg count and check tubal patency at that time. He then offered IUI with femara and trigger shots, which I declined. I went on to have 2 miscarriages and d&c's. I went back to dr. Parry and had another parryscope to reevaluate the womb for scarring. I went on to have a 3rd miscarriage. I then requested a pelvic MRI from my regular OB to verify bicornuate vs septate uterus. Once bicornuate uterus was ruled out and septate was confirmed I went back to dr. Parry. He reviewed the MRI images and confirmed the diagnosis. He then performed a septum resection. I did a balloon catheter for 3 days post resection then 30 days of estrogen therapy. 2 months after my septum resection I became pregnant and am currently 18 weeks

Dr Isaacs always has a calm, caring demeanor, and you feel as if he is personally invested in your success... a great listener and very accommodating for my wife and I. Like many fertility doctors, he seemed to lean more towards IVF as an option, but after we expressed our desire to stick with IUI only (for both religious and financial reasons), he supported our decision 100%...we did a semenanalysis and determined that I was part of the issue as well--our chances of conceiving naturally were around 5%. This led us to IUI. My wife was on a FSH medication for the two weeks leading up to the IUI, and we gave her an HCG shot at home 24 hours before the procedure. I was also given some dietary and lifestyle advice for improving my sperm count.
Every member of the nursing staff [at University of Mississippi] was a pleasure and just like Dr Isaacs was very invested in our success. Even the financial office knew us and encouraged us...We paid $1000 per 3x IUI attempts and all related procedures as a bundle. Any additional blood tests were comparable to any other health clinic...I love this clinic. It's kept up well, feels very modern, clean, and everything about the inside says they have your best interest at heart. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the phlebotomy room as it's a little small (which compounds my anxiety of injections), but that's an issue unique to me and wouldn't apply to everyone.

We did Clomid for a short time but stopped after we hit our limit of exposure. Dr Issacs comes in and shakes my husbands hand first and then shakes mine and asks how I’m doing. He is VERY personable and makes me feel important and comfortable! Sometimes he will tell a story or joke to put me at ease.. . He is very personable (& soft spoken). He is thorough and never makes me feel “rushed”.... he makes sure we are clear with everything before walking out of the room & reminds me that if I do have any questions, I can contact him.
[University of MS] Strengths would be the medical staff (doctor, nurses, etc)... clean, nice facility. Weaknesses- ladies at front desk. They are not friendly and get annoyed & short with people as they check in. I just wish they kept in mind that when we walk thru those doors, we are terrified and an emotional wreck. A little more friendly & a maybe a smile could would go a long way & put people at ease before they get called to the back .

Peggy (& Fran) we’re both amazing. They are very compassionate about what they do. They stayed by my side anytime I had procedures and were very open and personable about themselves and their lives. I asked Peggy about having kids and she ended up telling me that she had gone thru IVF 7 times (unsuccessfully) and because of that she went back to school to be a nurse and wanted to work with fertility patients. My love for her grew. She wants her patients to have babies as much as they do!

Expensive!! Every time we went, I left spending $200-$400. IVF/retrieval meds were $3900, IVF procedure $9,950 and blood work, etc paid when we went
Describe John Isaacs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at University of Mississippi.
He reminded me that people come to him to have A Healthy baby so that is what he strives for. When you go with multiple, there are additional risk for the momma and babies. He suggested with my age and quality eggs, that 1 was recommended

He [Dr. John Isaacs] wants me to be as stress free as possible. When we first started seeing him in 2014, I was only 26 years old. My age was in my favor and he made sure that I knew that. He sat down and explained everything in detail. I am not able to ovulate on my own and he went through that with us. After finding the correct dose of medicine, we did three rounds. We had no luck so we agreed that we wanted to try 3 IUI’s. Him and his staff was always available 7 days of week. After the IUI’s did not work we discussed IVF. He went into detail with how it would work. We began and completed a successful cycle of IVF. I have one 2 year old perfect little girl. I went back to him about 7 months ago to begin trying for number 2. We have only taken Femera and been unsuccessful. We want to do IVF but we are in need of the funds for that.
The clinic [Univ of MS- Flowood] is very clean and organized. They are always sure you have a patient bracelet when entering for care. The nurses and Dr. Isaacs make you feel like family. I feel that Dr. Isaacs is truly there to help you. I do not feel like he is trying to take your money. The weakness would be that MS accepts no insurance for infertility.... Dr. Isaacs and his nurse, Peggy treated me like family. Peggy went through infertility herself and made me feel like she knew how I am feeling.

Dr. Isaacs and his staff are always available for answering questions. I feel comfortable with procedures when I go to the clinic. I feel like he wants his patients to be successful with pregnancy.... I chose him because I was told he wasn't always as aggressive and we didn't want to do IVF however now we are wanting to look at taking that approach.... We have only done IUI, 6 cycles. We always did an ultrasound on day 12 and then would decide about what day to receive the HCG injection and then do the IUI the following day.
Very nice clinic [University of Mississippi]. Short wait times. Friendly staff. Professional staff. I cannot really think of any weaknesses needing to be addressed. The tech that was there for insenination always wished me luck and said she would keep us in her prayers and that meant a lot.... I primarily worked with Peggy, now with Peggy over the phone and Fran on ultrasound day. Peggy was very sincere and compassionate following our misscarriage. She always calls back and answers questions in a timely manner.

How was your experience with John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
I feel like he explains things well. He is laid back and makes you feel comfortable as a patient asking questions. I chose him because I was told he wasn't always as aggressive and we didn't want to do IVF however now we are wanting to look at taking that approach. We didn't think we would be finaicially able so I can only speak from IUIs.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
I feel like he really leaves decision making up to the patient so I would say know what you want to do or be frank and ask for his medical opinion.

We have only done IUI, 6 cycles. We always did an ultrasound on day 12 and then would decide about what day to receive the HCG injection and then do the IUI the following day. The first couple of times I feel like we did it too late. The 3rd time was on target and resulted in pregnancy followed by a miscarriage at 11 weeks. The last 2 times seem to have maybe been too early.

I feel as if one of Dr. Isaacs strengths is that he explained the IVF process to my husband and myself in simple terms. He showed visuals to help explain how the retrieval and transfer processes work. One of his weaknesses I feel was the fact that he was very to the point (which my husband liked). I like someone that shows a little bit more emotion when talking about something so serious.... After Dr. Isaacs got my AMH results back he chose my medication protocol. A few days later he added a medication to prevent OHSS.
One of the best things that I believe this clinic does is communicate quickly and effectively. If I call with a question they call back with an answer within 30 minutes. They always make me feel better about my questions and concerns.... You have to pay for IVF 2 weeks before you begin medications. The Whol IVF process costs $9,995, which doesn’t include medication.... Peggy is a God- send! She was the reason I chose to go with Dr. Isaacs because I knew I’d be working with her most of the time and she’s an excellent communicator and very empathetic.

How was your experience with John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
I feel as if one of Dr. Isaacs strengths is that he explained the IVF process to my husband and myself in simple terms. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
Do not go in thinking he is going to “sugar- coat” the information. He is going to be straight forward with you in regards to your treatment plan and sometimes for a woman first starting on this journey it can be scary!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
I felt like a human because Dr. Isaacs did not jump in and y’all about his success numbers until I asked about them. I felt as if he cared about how to help me and not only talking about his outcomes.
Describe the protocols John Isaacs used in your cycles at University of Mississippi and their degree of success.
We are beginning the IVF process at the end of April. After Dr. Isaacs got my AMH results back he chose my medication protocol. A few days later he added a medication to prevent OHSS.

Describe John Isaacs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at University of Mississippi.
Dr. Isaacs only recommends transferring 1 embryo at a time. The only time he mentioned possibly doing two is if a patient is much older.

he [Dr. Perry] got my consent to take part in a clinical trial (which has now been patented and named the Perryscope) of testing my tubes for patiency by passing a small air bubble through the tube and watching the results. He explained every step of the procedure and prepared me for any discomfort - which was minimal- prior to me feeling anything. After we competed this procedure, it helped him develop a plan of care that included Letrozol for ovulation, hcg injections to trigger the release of the egg from the follicle, and IUI.
They [The nurses at University of Mississippi] were like my sisters!! Always calling to check in on me and to see if I had any questions. They would greet me at the door with a smile and made me feel very very comfortable...It was nice...I would say it was Somewhat crowded...We started off with a hysterscopy - where they fill the uterus with a saline solution and view the inner lining and the Fallopian tubes with a small camera.

How was your experience with Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
He was so kind and gentle. Made me feel very at ease. Always explained every step of the process and what to expect. I always left feeling fully informed and hopeful that “this treatment would result in a pregnancy”. Even when the odds were very low, he supported me and was a cheerleader of sorts.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
Call him today!! I owe my miracle baby to him and his team. Stop thinking about taking the next step and just commit
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
He was the kindest and most compassionate doctor I’ve ever met. He truly listened to my concerns and answered every question that I had with such grace and empathy. I never felt like a paycheck to him.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at University of Mississippi and their degree of success.
We started off with a hysterscopy - where they fill the uterus with a saline solution and view the inner lining and the Fallopian tubes with a small camera. Then he got my consent to take part in a clinical trial (which has now been patented and named the Perryscope) of testing my tubes for patiency by passing a small air bubble through the tube and watching the results. He explained every step of the procedure and prepared me for any discomfort - which was minimal- prior to me feeling anything. After we competed this procedure, it helped him develop a plan of care that included Letrozol for ovulation, hcg injections to trigger the release of the egg from the follicle, and IUI. The worst part about the process was that I had to drive over an hour on day 12, sometimes day 14, day 17 and then day 21 every cycle. It felt like I was there very often. After the 3rd round of IUI, I finally had my first real positive pregnancy test and that pregnancy resulted in my now 3 year old daughter. When I went back for a consult to try for a second baby, he remembered me and my history and asked all about my child which left a lasting impact on me.

Describe your experience with University of Mississippi.
It was nice. He was at the University of Mississippi’s clinic in Flowood at the time of my first consult. I would say it was Somewhat crowded. But I know he has since moved to his own facility in Madison so im excited to see the new building. I’m really proud of his accomplishments!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at University of Mississippi.
Everything was out of my pocket. Insurance didn’t cover anything. All in all it was around $5000 total but completely worth every penny

Dr. Parry explains everything to me in easy-to-understand terms. He is very caring and wants the best for my family and me. He is very personable and seems to care about our lives outside of our fertility issues. He is very knowledgeable about female health and has personal experiences that allow him to relate to what we are going through.... Dr. Parry prescribed medicine for me to begin my period. I called the clinic on the first day of my cycle and they called in another medicine to help my eggs grow. I took that medicine on days 3-7 of my cycle. Then went into the doctor on day 12. When I went in, he did an ultrasound and noticed he needed to up my medicine.
Right now, their only weakness is the weird layout of the building they [U of Mississippi] are in. They are in the process of building a grand building at the moment. Strengths - Cheerleaders for nurses, awesome staff, personable doctor There is never a wait!... First consult - $150 Parryscope Procedure - $850 3 Ultrasounds and 3 IUIs - $1000 Extra ultrasounds - $175... Brittany and Vicky are the best nurses. They are always up-beat and cheering me on during this point in my life. I can call with any questions and they always take time out of their day to speak to me and make me feel comfortable. They are seriously your own personal cheerleaders always in your corner.

I took that medicine on days 3-7 of my cycle. Then went into the doctor on day 12. When I went in, he did an ultrasound and noticed he needed to up my medicine. I took the higher dosage for a few more days and then went back in for another ultrasound. That dose seemed to work much better as I had an egg ready to ovulate on the second ultrasound. My husband gave me a shot 36 hours before my IUI appointment. Unfortunately, the first IUI did not work but the next round seems to be going much smoother as my dosage worked perfectly and I have just completed my second IUI and I am in my 2 week waiting period.

Dr. Parry spent a lot of time getting to know my husband and me. He was patient with all of our questions. He was compassionate as my diagnoses got worse with each visit. He completed my surgery with excellent skill, and seemed genuinely happy to see us on each successive visit.... My treatment began with a consultation visit, followed by blood tests and the Parryscope diagnostic testing. Surgery came next to remove cysts, fibroids, polyps, endometriosis, and an adhesion. 3 months post surgery, we began 3 rounds of IUI using Letrozole on days 3-7, sonogram on day 10 or 11, a trigger shot of Pregnyl or Ovidrel as directed by Dr. Parry, and then insemination.
I had no problems at the clinic [U of Mississippi- Flowood]. Wait times were minimum, and we never had problems getting an appointment quickly. We were always told up front what our costs would be. From reception to checkout, I never received poor service.... Vicki and Brittany were excellent nurses. They answered all my questions, and always responded quickly to phone calls or email requests. Both always made me very comfortable, and like I was family.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at University of Mississippi.
I initially paid a consultation fee. My insurance reimbursed that, due to the necessity of surgery. My insurance covered all of my testing leading up to my surgery. 3 months post surgery we began with 3 rounds of IUI. The 3 rounds of IUI with 1 ultrasound each time was $1000. We did have additional expenses of around $700 for the 3 doses of Letrozole, and about $360 for 3 injectables.

He [Dr. Parry] tries to be very personal and makes you feel like your the only patient he is concerned with...He is very kind and takes his time answering your questions. He never made me feel uncomfortable through my procedures...He explained to me about his new technology,The Parryscope. I opted to do this instead of the dye a lot of doctors do. I got my shots from a pharmacy he trusted and they gave a discount rate for patients that use his clinic. (This helps bc of most insurances don’t cover meds.) His bedside manner is well, he was able to talk with my husband and me openly and made us feel apart of his family. He gave us all the options we had. I could always call/text him personally and he would respond within a few hours.
staff [at University of Mississippi] is also very caring and understandable...They [nurses] are absolutely wonderful! They diffenently are in their niche! They will hold your hand or cry with you if you need them too...3 IUI including the ultrasounds for each one before to see how many eggs was $1000. This doesn’t include $100 shot and letrazole/femara...There is sometimes a little wait. There are multiple doctors in this building so there is also a few more people than I expected but not overly crowded. I never felt uncomfortable in their. I knew the other ladies and gents were there for the same reason as me. Sometimes it’s even a conversation starter bc someone else is going through some of the things as yourself.

Dr Parry was extremely personable an explained everything in detail. He would always listen to any questions we had and didn’t act like he was in a hurry to get to the next patient.... I did 3 rounds of juice. Before each insemination he would have me come in for an ultrasound of my ovaries. Then in about the 3rd day of my cycle I would take letrazol for a few days and then about 12 hours before insemination I would have to get a trigger shot. I would have to lie back for about 10 min after and then wait. None of the attempts were successful. Dr Perry then suggested that maybe surgery would be helpful for me because I had a few fibroids.
My nurse and everyone working for Dr. Parry were excellent. They [University of Mississippi] were all extremely caring and informative.... Dr. Parry has recently moved and started his own practice and I actually haven’t been to his new clinic yet. I hope to be able to make an appointment really soon. I have heard very good things about it and am following their progress on social media. If it is anything like what I experienced before the move I know it will be excellent.

I know I must sound like a broken record by now but I can’t stress it enough that Dr. Perry is a wonderful physician but also so down to earth. Some people might find him to be a bit odd, but I think that’s just his passion for helping people shining through.

At our first visit he [Dr. Parry] gave us his personal cell number to call anytime we had concerns or worries along our journey. After my egg retrieval, I over stimulated and Dr. Parry himself came to check on me until I was able to be released. Also he personally called both times to share the news that our transfer had not resulted in a pregnancy. He then followed up in the next few weeks just to check on us and let us know he was there if we needed anything.
I like that there is a separate entrance and exit for the infertility clinc [U of Mississippi] from the rest of the office. I also like that you can call straight to the secretary of the clinic and that she knows who you are...Vicki was our cheerleader and friend every step of our IVF journey She hugged and let me cry on her shoulder and was there to hold my hand when my husband could not be at every visit before the transfers.....Hystescopy was $750.00 Sperm retrival analysis was $1,500.00 IVF was $12,500.00 Medication was $5,500.00...

How was your experience with Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
I think his way of being very compassionate shines through in his office visits. I always felt he was not in a hurry and that I was the only patient he had to see on that day. He always makes sure that myself and my husband fully understand each procedure and the things that can happen. He shared the good and bad sides to every procedure with us.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
Trust him and listen to his advice.

Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at University of Mississippi and their degree of success.
My first procedure was a hystescopy to make sure I did not have damage from 2 previous miscarriages year as ago. Then my husband had to have a biopsy to removed tissue that our embryologist used to separate out the sperm. We were so relived that she was able to find a lot of sperm. When we began the shots I had no issues at all, but at the first app. my estrogen level was 3 times the level it should have been. So we had to reduce my medication. On the day of the retrival Dr Parry and his nurse were already concered as my kidneys were not working that great. And during my retrival Dr Parry told my husband that I had fluid in pelvic and that I bleed a lot worse than he had expected. We were so happy to hear that we received 23 eggs. On day1 we had 20 that fertilized, day 2-4 we had 14 embryos. But come the day of transfer we were told we had two good embroyos and that they were not hopefully we would have any to freeze the next day. We were both an emotionally mess during the whole transfer. On my 1st embryo transfer I had retained a lot of fluid and I had a hard time getting enough water in me for the ultrasound due to my kidneys not working. Over the next two days I spiked a fever and gained 15 pounds over night. After a visit to the hospital and some medication the fluid slowly started coming off. All the progestin shots killed my hips and they were covers in bruises. We had to wait 3 days extra due to Thanksgiving to find out that our embryo transfer didn't work. The only blessing that came out was that I was healthy and that we had 4 embryos that look good enough to freeze. We decided to start another transfer immediately. So began the estrogen pills. At my first app to check on my lining Dr. Parry discovered that it was not at all the thickness it needed to be and that I had a hemorrhagic cyst that was starting to dissolve. So we waited another week and increased my estrogen pills from 3 times a day to 4 times. And we just had to hope and pray that the next week things would look better. The next week the cyst was gone and my lining was at 13. So we scheduled my 2nd transfer(frozen embryos). My husband and I were nervous but we belived that this was going to be our time. Our transfer was very laid back and we felt good about it. We just knew as we drove home that at least one of our two embroyos had taken and we hoped both had. 12 days later I received the news that we were not pregant. Heartbroken doesn't even began to describe what we felt. We are in the process of begin another transfer and this will be our final one, because we only have 2 embroyos left. We have discussed it and financially we can not afford another round of IVF.
Describe your experience with your nurse at University of Mississippi. (Assigned nurse: Vicki Butler)
Vicki was our cheerleader and friend every step of our IVF journey. She hugged and let me cry on her shoulder and was there to hold my hand when my husband could not be at every visit before the transfers.
Describe your experience with University of Mississippi.
I like that there is a separate entrance and exit for the infertility clinc from the rest of the office. I also like that you can call straight to the secretary of the clinic and that she knows who you are and can direct you to the nurse if you need them.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at University of Mississippi.
Hystescopy was $750.00 Sperm retrival analysis was $1,500.00 IVF was $12,500.00 Medication was $5,500.00
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at University of Mississippi.
Dr. Parry left or transfer number up to us. But he did feel that transferring 2 embroyos each time was a better option due to our age. We agreed with Jim because we wanted the best chance. But he always left the decision up to us.

[Dr. Isaacs] sat us down and explained everything and drew pictures to make sure we understood each process. He never pressured us, but told us our options and what he suggested. He was kind and friendly. He included us on everything and was hopeful with us, cheering us on.... The only thing I wasn’t fond of is one insemination was actually performed by his nurse instead of him. Not that I don’t think she wasn’t capable, but it made me feel better when he performed the procedure himself.
The staff [U of Mississippi] was helpful and nice. The wait time was usually pretty short. The clinic was always clean. They were very professional. Sometimes there were a lot of people in the waiting room. It wasn’t hard to find, but sometimes had to park way off because the parking lot is pretty small.... The consult visit was $250 and the 3 rounds of IUI were a package deal of $1000. I had to have one extra ultrasound which was around $175 and the trigger shots were $89 each cycle.

How was your experience with John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
He sat us down and explained everything and drew pictures to make sure we understood each process. He never pressured us, but told us our options and what he suggested. He was kind and friendly. He included us on everything and was hopeful with us, cheering us on.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
Be ready for each potential outcome.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with John Isaacs at University of Mississippi?
The staff was very kind. They had already read my entire history and medical files before we ever came for our consult. They explained each step and plan of treatment thoroughly to both myself and my husband. And they ALWAYS returned my calls when I had questions.
Describe the protocols John Isaacs used in your cycles at University of Mississippi and their degree of success.
He recommended IUI. He prescribed clomid and told me to come in for an ultrasound on the 14th day of my cycle. He pinpointed which day I should ovulate and told me when to take the trigger shot. We then went back for the insemination on the specific date he requested. He adjusted the dates according to when he thought I would ovulate each cycle. We did this for 3 cycles in a row.
Describe your experience with your nurse at University of Mississippi. (Assigned nurse: Nurse Dickason)
She was very sweet and knowledgeable. She truly wanted this for us as much as we did. She always used kind words and showed compassion.

It wasn’t hard to find, but sometimes had to park way off because the parking lot is pretty small. Overall, it was a very nice facility with enjoyable people. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

I believe he did everything exactly how it should have been done. I felt comfortable and confident he did everything to the best of his ability. Dr. Parry (and the staff actually) genuinely cares about me. He took his time answered ALL my questions patiently. Cried with me when I had my miscarriage. Celebrated when we were successful in the treatment. They were (are) my family. He cares about how my husband and I felt and understood the struggles and emotions we had in our journey so far.... He also was very cost friendly and wanted to make sure we weren’t overly burdened with cost.
I have a unique experience that I was treated at UMMC which is dr. Parrys old clinic. I haven’t been treated at the new clinic but know it is just as great as the old clinic because the staff moved to the new clinic. It wasn’t so much the facility/clinic than the staff that we loved....They were an extension of dr. Parry. They were like family and genuinely cared. They were attentive and helpful.... $1,000 for every 3 IUI treatments....

How was your experience with Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
He was very attentive and patient. You could tell he absolutely cares about our feelings and our experiences. He explained in detail and questions or procedures. He gave us his personal cell number to call if we had any questions as well (which was a big deal to me...not that I would use it but he cares enough that we could interrupt his personal life with his family in order to make my family feel at ease with any questions or concerns we had). I honestly cannot day enough great things about him.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
Be open and honest about your struggles and what you’ve done so far. He was the third doctor I had seen so it wasn’t my first rodeo. I told him my frustrations of previous treatments and he adjusted my care plan to accommodate what I knew wasn’t working (of course he did this as in agreement to my care and no just because I said to. He reviewed my charts, etc. so I didn’t dictate what was happening). But he listened and agreed that those treatments didn’t work for me and put a care plan together that did work. So be open with everything and trust him. He’ll help come up with the best care plan and cost effectiveness for your situation.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at University of Mississippi?
Dr. Parry (and the staff actually) genuinely cares about me. He took his time answered ALL my questions patiently. Cried with me when I had my miscarriage. Celebrated when we were successful in the treatment. They were (are) my family. He cares about how my husband and I felt and understood the struggles and emotions we had in our journey so far. He listened to my frustrations with other doctors and adjusted our care in response to what hadn’t worked before. He also was very cost friendly and wanted to make sure we weren’t overly burdened with cost. You could just tell that he cared for us and our outcome as much as we did. We most certainly were not a number to them. We were family.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at University of Mississippi and their degree of success.
I honestly don’t remember dosage and names but I would take a pill to grow my eggs and then take a shot to force ovulation and egg drop. Then we did IUO treatments. I got pregnant twice (one miscarriage and one successful live birth with a wonderful baby boy whom we love!)

Dr. Parry is by far the very best doctor I have every come to know. After seeing 2 doctors before him.... we knew we were finally in the right hands with Dr. Parry. He knows his reproductive medicine but also treats you as an equal and you can truly feel his compassion and want for you to conceive and goes well beyond his duties, I believe, to make you feel valued.... He wanted to be sure not to overstimulate me being that I have pcos
They [U of Mississippi] were great about keeping up with my cycle. I was always able to reach them. And they were always courteous and informative. They stayed on top of where I was in the protocol. Was always able to reach them via phone or email with out any problems.... [Nurse] Extremely efficient and compassionate! They want the pregnancy just as much as you do... they will let you cry in their shoulder, laugh with you and pray with you

Dr. Parry is very inviting and easy to talk to. He does not talk down to patients, nor does he talk in a manner that makes it hard for patients to understand the medical terminology. He ensures his patients have a thorough understanding of everything, and doesn’t hesitate to answer any and all questions a patient may have.... I would tell prospective patients to listen carefully to what he has to say. While you may have your own ideas about what you want, he will let you know the best options to give you that, even if they differ. He will always do what is best for his patients.
The clinic staff was very kind and compassionate, and very helpful with all stages of the process. They were efficient and eager to answer questions or find someone who could any my question(s). The one thing I did not care for was when UMMC changed who answered the phones for the fertility side of the clinic...it became a lot more impersonal and harder to speak with whom I wanted to talk with.... All of the nursing staff was very kind and compassionate.

Describe your experience with your nurse at University of Mississippi. (Assigned nurse: Vicki Butler)
All of the nursing staff was very kind and compassionate. They answered any and all questions and relayed information to and from the doctor very well. When my husband and I were disappointed with the lack of results after the first two transfers, they were very encouraging and did not let us give up hope.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at University of Mississippi.
We paid about $8000 for IVF with ICSI, which included 1 fresh transfer and 1 frozen transfer. We later paid about $2000 for the 3rd embryo transfer. We paid for the medications separately through a mail order pharmacy, which cost us about $9000 after insurance.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at University of Mississippi.
The first embryo transfer was a fresh transfer, and it was decided that only one embryo would be transferred. After the fresh single embryo transfer failed to produce any results, the next transfer was with two frozen embryos. Again, that transfer failed to produce any results. The third and final transfer was again with two frozen embryos, which resulted in a single live birth.

He is very thorough with his knowledge of IUI and IVF. He is up to date of percentages of luckilyhood of pregnancies. He always greats us with a smile and loves seeing pictures of our daughter. He considers every patient family.... Our first cycle was 7.5 mg of Letrozole cycle days 3 through 7. Day 16 was insemination. That resulted in a negative, so next cycle we switched days up. 7.5mg Letrozole days 2-9 and inseminated around day 16. That resulted in pregnancy of our daughter.
Strengths are their knowledge of meds and willingness to listen. They [University of Mississippi] are willing to try something someone may suggest. Their smiles and personalities are their behest strengths. They cry with you, smile with you. There is really know weaknesses from my experience with Dr. Parry and his staff.... Dr. Parry’s prices are amazing. For IUI, he offers 3 tries with 3 vaginal ultrasounds for $1,000. For IVF, he offers 4 transfers for $9,950.

Dr. Parry is kind and caring. You can tell he is very passionate about his work. He always took the time to answer any questions we had. I trusted his judgement completely and I don’t feel like he did any unnecessary monitoring or testing. I cannot think of even one negative thing to say about Dr. Parry.... I did three IUIs with Dr. Parry, all with letrozole days 3-7, follicle check on CD 10. If needed, additional days of letrozole and another follicle check. I took Hcg trigger shot when instructed.
The cost was very reasonable, especially for the excellent care we received. They [U of Mississippi] were pretty flexible with scheduling appointments as well.... There was a “package” deal that included three IUIs with one follicle check per cycle for $1000. I believe additional follicle checks were $200. My meds were very inexpensive at the University Medical Center pharmacy. Ninety letrozole tablets were like $30, I think, and my Hcg trigger shots were $30, too, if I’m remembering correctly.

He’s an amazing doctor. He [Dr. Isaacs] explains things very well and he makes sure myself and my husband understands everything. I never felt uncomfortable during any of my procedures. He drew pictures for us to make sure everything was clear. I’m a women’s health nurse but he still took the time to make sure i understood every thing and my husband as well.... Write down any questions that i May have. He will sit and talk with you at your visits and sometimes you may forget what u want to ask.
The clinic [U of MS] is very Timely, clean, friendly, informative. I’ve never had to wait very long at any of my appointments. Most of the time they call me back before I’m even finished checking in. The appointments are always quick and informative... The nurses are AMAZING! If i have any questions i can call or send an email and i always get a quick response, I’m a nurse so i have “high expectations”

I felt like just another patient with Dr. Isaacs. As a nurse myself, that hurts. To them- infertility is normal, but ya not when you are the patient. After 3 failed IUIs he wanted to go straight to IVF without looking for possible problems.... Femara days 5-9- to aid in egg production (2-3 eggs resulted each cycle) Pregnyl- to induce ovulation (days varied depending on egg size) IUI 32 hours after Pregnyl. (No pregnancies resulted.)
There a plenty of pregnant women as there seem to be OBGYNs in this office [University of Mississippi- Flowood] as well. If this is a trigger, you may want to go elsewhere. There are no options for beverages while you wait for treatments so bring something when you come.... The nursing staff were very informative and kind. They assisted Dr. Isaacs during all visits. They also returned phone calls within the same day.

I have done 5 IUI’s [with Dr. John Isaacs] and I have taken clomid and femerea for every cycle for a year and 3 months now. With the IUIs we had to sometimes play around with the dosage of medicine so it’s been different almost every time... very understanding and is very easy to talk to and you know exactly what to expect with what will be taking place next. He sits down and listens to you and you work out a plan of action together.
You never wait long at this clinic [University of Mississippi] at all. The clinic is very clean and nice. Parking is easy and the waiting room is very spacey with TVs to keep you entertained and educated while you wait. Each staff member including the secretary’s, insurance ladies, front desk, and check out are extremely friendly...They [the nurses] are all very friendly and go out of their way to show how important you are to them

Preston Parry was amazing! He explained everything very good. He was kind and caring. He always made me feel special even after each month I continued to get negative test results.... my left tube is blocked so when we started doing IUI treatments we would skip a month or two depending on if my eggs were on my left or right side because the chances were greater if they were on my right side.
Make sure to have patience and have time to be there. It’s not a quick process. Which is a good thing. This clinic [U of Mississippi] is nice and very thorough. If possible make your significant other go with you so they will know each process as well.... It was $1,000 for 3 rounds of IUI. Plus $200 consultant fee... Amazing mrs Vicki and Brittany were amazing! I still get emails from mrs Vicki checking on me

Dr Parry and his staff are there with you every step of the way. They are like family...Going into the process I was very unsure of what to expect and my capability to make it through but his steady demeanor was so helpful. Dr. Parry explains things in such a way that it's easy to understand and at the same time he lays down the facts. I work well with probabilities and having those numbers come from dr parry based on the different factors associated was awesome.
They [staff at University of Mississippi] are like family...I cannot say enough about our nurses. Willingness to answer questions and show support at all times of the day and night. They are so well educated on the process and could answer questions before I could even think to ask them...10,000 for egg retrieval and 2 transfers. 1000 for 3 iui...The clinic was patient oriented. When you walked in they knew who you were. The only weakness was there were a few issues with billing procedures but they were still willing to make sure they were sorted out.

Dr. John Issacs is extremely caring and compassionate. You feel like a valued member of a team. He encourages you, even during setbacks. He makes sure you understand each step of the process. He does not force an option. Rather he informs and guides while allowing you to make your own decisions.... My husband takes Clomid for low testosterone. I have taken letrozole and hcg injections for IUI.
The clinic [University of Mississippi] can be crowded. Arrive early for your appointment. Have insurance information readily available. Have medical records or make arrangements prior to your appointment for them to be sent over.... They are caring and compassionate as well. They prayed for me after my first IUI and give encouraging words each visit.... Dr. Issacs is great! He has an awesome bedside manner and caring disposition.

He [Dr. Parry] was so caring and informative. Really took the time with my husband and myself to explain everything and stayed positive....Caring, informative and positive. Felt like he was in this with us and rooting for us every step of the way. Didn’t rush us and he answered every question. Made us feel extremely comfortable - would love to use him again!... Vaginal ultrasound to see follicles - low count. Sperm count - normal Hormone injections and letrazole taken to increase egg release.
Good. Front desk [University of Mississippi] was a little unwelcoming but never rude. Just no small talk made, barely even a good morning. Just got the idea they didn’t want to speak or be spoken too - which is fine. The rest of the staff made up for it... He [Dr. Parry] was so caring and informative. I didn’t get to start any fertility treatments because I had uterine fibroids. I was referred to him because I wanted to see a fertility physician. He was great and so was my surgery
[Univ of Mississippi-Flowood was] Well organized. There wasn’t a long wait for my appointment. They were knowledgeable and courteous. I expected weird stares but, they treated me very well. Even when I called the office, everyone that answered the phone was courteous.... They [the nurses] were truly a reflection of the doctor they worked for! They were fantastic!

Dr. Parry learned our names very quickly. He also knew my medical history and treated me like a friend instead of a patient....Dr. Parry is a top-notch professional. He is everything one looks for in a doctor - intelligent, kind and compassionate. I've never met another doctor like him. He goes above and beyond.
The nursing staff [at University of Mississippi] are the kindest and most encouraging people I know. They make every patient feel special. In addition to their medical advice, they provide a lot of emotional support....It's typically a short wait time. The staff cares about your time. However, I would be willing to sit in the waiting room all day to see Dr. Parry....$700 for 3 months of IUI $30 for fertility drugs for 6 months $10 monthly for shot

Very compassionate and understanding, he [Dr. Isaacs] was very eager to assist in fertility treatments! I missed my original appointment and when I did make it he asked what took so long which made me feel like a special patient to know he was concerned.... Basically clomid and Provera I was Reffered from another university clinic so everything was on file and I did the steps just wasn’t able to be further in the process
They [nurses - University of Mississippi] were great and helpful and assisted him and was on top of my care... The only thing I was add is if there was a payment plan to assist women who were trying to get pregnant... I missed my original appointment and when I did make it he [Dr. Isaacs] asked what took so long which made me feel like a special patient to know he was concerned. I wish I was able to pay more to extent the visits.

I thought I was unable to have children due to my pcos, so dr Parry did the Parryscope and found out that everything looks normal, but we would have to consider iui due to male infertility. The parryscope was not painful unlike the hsg testing with the dye, as I reviewed before the parryscope.... My experience with Dr Parry was excellent. He gave us hope when others couldn’t. He is very understanding, great bed side manners, any questions asked he had an answer to everything. He made me feel important. There were no weaknesses in dr parry!
Cost for iui is 1000.00 for 3 inseminations, std testing was 320.00 that was including drs visit, and trigger shot is 100.00 [at Univ of Miss]... The clinic is organized, very clean. Many patients have had very successful stories. All testing can be done in office without having to go to a lab for any other testing. I have yet to find any weaknesses at the clinic.... The nursing staff are excellent. They treat you like family, great communication, very responsive with questions and returning calls. Great nurses

I love Dr Parry and his staff. He now has his own clinic in Madison. I would recommend him to everyone!... has wonderful bed side manners. He is extremely intelligent, but able to explain things that we could understand. He is always happy and eager to help his patients. He takes his time to know his patients and answers all questions...Letrozole for cycle 3-7 then come in for ultrasound on day 10. Trigger shot and IUI within 24-36 hours after that. Easy peasy.
Vickie [nurse at University of Mississippi] is the best! She is so gentle with helping with ultrasounds and shots. She is patient and always smiling. We absolutely adore her and everyone else that works there!...Patient, happy and energetic staff! I wish I had their energy and enthusiasm. Everyone is wonderful! We never had a bad experience. I cannot brag enough of the clinic as a whole! The process is always easy!...Affordable...Letrozole for cycle 3-7 then come in for ultrasound on day 10. I did a microcode Lupron flare and a treatment where Letrozole was added and the Lupron removed [with Dr. John Isaacs]...The doctor appeared to be up front and honest about tx options and possibly success. However, I didn't not receive my test results timely and at each blood I was not told what was the purpose of the draw.
The clinic [University of Mississippi] was easy to access and very little wait time. They front desk was courteous and pleasant. The building was very warm and inviting. The Embryologist kept us informed and answered all of my questions...Everyone was extremely nice and genuinely seem to care....The nursing staff was excellent and showed genuine compassion and care for myself and my spouse.

I felt like a human with Dr.Parry because he talked to me and allowed me to look at the pictures and data that was collected.... His strengths is that he has the ability to talk and explain thoroughly about what is going on. Dr Parry is patient with me and comforted me when I had to get my tubes removed at an early age. The way he took out time to elaborate on the pros and cons of treatments made me feel secure with my decision to trust him.
